September 12, 2001 When words fail...
The day after nine eleven, I attended a slide lecture on the campus of Southwest Missouri State University concerning the political poster design of Lex Drewinski. Several of his designs are conceptual interpretations of international flags. During the lecture, I suddenly realized that the stripes of the American flag could be visually interpreted as skyscrapers. The resulting poster was a personal response to the tragedy and its implications for America.
